VONORE, TN – Would you like to learn a new language? Why not try Cherokee? The Sequoyah Birthplace Museum is offering beginner and advanced beginner Cherokee language class on the following Wednesdays March 28, April 4, 11, and 18, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost of the class is $50 for all four evenings. The class will be taught by Gil Jackson and Lou Jackson who are enrolled members of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indian.
The Museum is currently under renovation and is slated to reopen summer of 2018 with a completely new exhibit. The language classes will be held in the Vonore Community Center on 611 Church Street until the museum’s education room reopens in the spring.
